About

I'm the VP of Engineering at Aten Design Group, where I manage a talented team of developers and help lead projects alongside strategists, designers, and project managers. I thrive on aligning people and process to solve tough challenges. Outside of work, I'm usually chasing my kids or a summit...sometimes both at once.

Experience

Aten Design Group

VP of Engineering

July 2022 - Present

In 2009, I joined Aten as part of a move west—to reconnect with my roots in design and development and to be closer to the mountains. From the start, I was trusted to lead, and as my strengths emerged, I was given the freedom to grow into new roles. Over time, I found my stride leading our engineering team and helping take our people, practices, and digital projects to new heights.

Previous Roles at Aten

  • Director, Engineering / November 2015 - July 2022
  • Lead Architect / April 2012 - November 2015
  • Senior Designer / August 2009 - April 2012

Paramore Digital

Director of Development

April 2005 - August 2009

Joining Paramore straight out of school, I was the fourth hire at a fast-growing digital agency and had the opportunity to help scale the team to over 30 by 2009. Over four years, I progressed from a designer/developer into a leadership role, managing projects and mentoring junior team members while delivering creative and technical solutions for a wide range of clients. Highlights included work for The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Frist Art Museum, The Greenbrier Resort, and Gary Player, among others. It was a fast-paced, formative experience that taught me how to lead, adapt, and grow with a team.
